Suffering from Dry Eyes?

Dry eye is a progressive disease of the ocular surface caused by a lack of sufficient lubrication which leads to an imbalance of the tear film. This condition generally results in eyes appearing red and irritated with a feeling of stinging, burning, itching, and blurred vision.

Causes

Dry eye can be caused by a number of factors such as: the natural aging process, living in a dry climate, side effects of medications, refractive eye surgery and using contact lenses for an extended period of time.

Suffering from dry eyes?

Our new LipiScan technology allows our doctors and staff to identify Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD) in a quick and effective way. MGD affects the majority of dry eye patients as the meibomian glands cannot produce enough oils to keep the eye moist and causes tears to evaporate too quickly. In just 60 seconds, the LipiScan Imager will capture a high definition image of the meibomian gland structure. These images will help determine an accurate diagnosis of MGD and the most appropriate treatment to relieve dry eye discomfort.

Treatment

There are a few effective treatment options for dry eye including: recommended vitamins, wipes, gels, masks and eye drops. Depending on the severity of the diagnosed condition, an appropriate treatment will be prescribed.

Don’t risk leaving dry eye untreated. Not only is it uncomfortable, it can leave your eyes more vulnerable to infections. Dry eye can also cause scratches on the surface of the eye or the cornea if ignored over time.
